Immigrating US Born child to Canada

Hi,
We are having PR of Canada. Our Child is born in US. We are not living in Canada but we have maintained the status. We have not filed the Tax Returns for Canada as we live in US. We want to immigrate our child to Canada? What is the procedure for that?

I believe you have to be resident in Canada to sponsor family, including the child.
