Immigrants UNREST : can it Happen here in USA?

Yesterday evening Lou dobbs show is showing about Immigrants unrest in France and showed interviews with Director of Center for Immigration Studies etc ., questioning them about the chance of Immigrants unrest here in USA ?
and their answer is with the rising number of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS in USA and without a clear comprehensive Immigration policy in USA there is a chance..

CAN IT HAPPEN HERE? WHAT YOU THINK??

No, the situation is very different, in USA even the Illegals immigrants have a better life compared with that in their home countries, in France most of them are even French Citizens but suffer discrimination when looking for a job.
 
but the crime rate will increase drastically....since the number of poor are increasing.....and assuming that the illegal immigrants do not pay proper attention to the education of their kids.....

but on second thought....illegal immigration has been going on since ages.....and i think most of the old generation establish themselves well....so maybe life is good for everyone over here.....since everyone gets enough work...to have a good life...

One interesting fact....

I spent Zero $ for the delivery of my first daughter. (no health insurance)

I spent $ 500 + for the second (even after having health insurance !!!)

meaning...

Even if you do not have GC... most of the basic requirements of livin life in America are met by hook or by... you know.

The back bone of the United States is its system. Fortunately it had and it has great leaders who are instrumental in developing a system that corrects by it self. It does not mean that the system is flaw less. I strongly believe that here the administration is the best in the world to learn lessons from the mistakes and try their best not to repeat them.

For example take the immigration system. The administration learned that legal immigration is good for the country because it helps to maintain the competitiveness and they would be in the controlled system which helps them to monitor them in many ways. The illegal immigration is worse for the country and is causing and will cause many other problems in future including the so called ‘immigrants unrest’.

So there is a great need to encourage legal immigration and curtail illegal immigration. The leaders came forward with two pronged approach. First control the borders. Then bring the illegal immigrants into the system so that the government has a chance to monitor their activities in addition to other positive effects.

YES LOU DOBB IT CAN HAPPEN HERE IN AMERICA IF IMMEDIATE MEASURES ARE NOT TAKEN TO CURTAIL ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND ENCOURAGE LEGAL IMMIGRATION.
 
i do not know the numbers.....but raviks34....isnt illegal immigration going on since decades, and how much bad vibes have we seen from immigrants??....i have not seen heard much.......

if that is the case why do you think that things are different now.....is the rate of migration 10 times the past??, infact with so much attention being paid to border....after few years the rate may go down further....which means....life will be much easier for the manual labours with increase in wages...
 
Unrest not from the immigrants, but from Americans themselves.

In America, illegal aliens and their children have no motive to unrest. The ones that may uprise in the future are the American tax payers themselves, since they are getting ripped off by the illegal aliens trend. Illegals are using school districts, healthcare, getting food stamps, etc and not paying a dime for it. All that is a serious exploitation of public resources that are maintained by all US tax payers, including me. Organizations profit big time since the labor is cheap, but there is a real cost for maintaining illegals in this country.

If you think that allowing the current illegal aliens to become guest-workers will stop illegal immigration by itself, keep on dreaming.

I am kind of agree with this.

Illegals are the most exploited groups here. The reason for any one individual to immigrate is to look for better opportunity on the other side or shortage of opportunity in their home country. Does this warrant the so called exploitation? If you guys are worried that schools, hospitals get nothing from illegals, look at how much they are earning. Do they get same treatment as any legal immigrant? Illegals work 12 hours or more a day...may be 7 days a week, and get 10% of the legals immigrants' wage.....so why should they pay for schools and hospitals?

Okay, now the question, whether legals pay for the illegals school/hospital or not....well thats why we need better immigration policy to bring in unskilled labor along with skilled labor so that wages will not shoot up due to shortage of labor. Does that make some economics? If wages shoot-up, your company will loose competitive advantage, and the job will be outsourced.....Lou Dobbs and his emotional economics does not provide any answer to any of these issues.....and I think he is racially motivated rather than anything else.

I think the current policy of the president (George Bush) is correct and beneft the nation more than CNN’s wastage of airtime by allowing Lou Dobbs present this “broken borders”. Lou’s ideology is broken and inhuman….compared the ones of the president….which at least provide the illegals an opportunity to recover the money they invested to come to the US for the betterment of their families.
 
Illegals actually contribute social security taxes without getting any benefits. Most of them forge a social security card. When the employer sends in the payroll taxes, the social security administration puts these into an "unreconciled" account which has billions of dollars in it. Socially security would be in trouble sooner if not for these contributions. There was a new york times article about this some time back when social security was a big political issue.
