Immigrants and Driver's Licence?

Hello I wanted to know is there a way for the immigrants to get a driver's license? i have only id tax number which I pay taxes on but nothing else. Is there anything that I can do with that number. apply for anything ?? Maybe there is something I don't know , and of course could I make driver's license on tax id number??

no you can't get drivers license with a tax i.d i have a tax id myself from 2004 i went to dmv to apply for a nys i.d and they told me i need to have a ssn in order for me to get nys.id. i think you could only open a bank account and some job accept tax.i.d but now i don't need that anymore because i will be getting my ssn very soon.

If you only have an ITIN and no Green Card, you are not an immigrant.

as far as I know there is a legal way to get your DL in state of Maryland even if you are an illegal immigrant, you will need to have a proof af address (bill on your name, bank account with check book on your name and MAryland address), ITIN card and a valid photo ID.
