I have applied for immigrant visa for my spouse from India. His interview will be scheduled very soon from NVC in India. Due to family reason, I have to leave my job and come to India for couple of months. When I sent the affidavit of support for immigrant visa I only showed my salary as the source of income. At the time of my spouse interview in India, will the officer create a problem he comes to know that I have no job. Will the officer not approve the visa? Basically I want to know will it be a problem for my spouse to get the immigrant visa if I leave my job for couple of months and then join another job once I return to USA. Your help is appreciated. Thank You.

Yes. Unless you convince the officer that you indeed join another job and return to the USA before or with the spouse.

Get a co-sponsor to sign an I-864. This will cover all eventualities.

Thank you for the reply. Getting a co-sponsor is not a problem but how do I go about providing this information to NVC. Do I ask my co-sponsor to fill the I864 form and mail it directly to NVC. Please let me know because now we are at the last stage of the immigrant visa. Any day my spouse can get interviewed scheduled for immigrant visa in New Delhi.
