SoDesperate

Hi everyone...
I've been a visitor of this forum for a looong time and today I'm writing something for the first time.
I basically have lost all hope that I will ever get my green card. It's the most frustrating, emotionally draining, EXPENSIVE thing I've ever been involved in...
Here's a re-cap of my situation.
My name check has been pending since June of 2004. At the time I had an approved Labor Certificate and had filed a joint
i-140/i-485. I thought that all was going well until I received an RFE which I replied to. Then I got another one. Basically the problem was that my employer at the time had 'shady' tax returns that didn't show enough money to pay me. EVEN THOUGH I WAS OBVIOUSLY BEING PAID! This was very frustrating. Then I got the worse news of all. My lawyer was sent to prison!! He was involved in some fraud scandal and every single one of his client's cases was DENIED based on the fact that they could not determine which cases were fradulent and which ones weren't. I was utterly devastated. And broke! I was NOT one of his fradulent clients AND I had paid him thousands and thousands of dollars! Not to mention all the money I paid USCIS!
In any case, some time later I met a wonderful man and fell in love. We were married in September of 2005 and I was able to apply for a GC under the Cuban Adjustment Act. (My hubby is Cuban.) My AP and EAD were both approved. (I'm actually now on my 3rd AP and EAD!) We went for our interview in June of 2006 and it went great. I was initially fingerprinted in February of 2006 and because those fp had expired, I was fingerprinted again this past April 24, 2008. My case was at Chicago but it is now at the local Miami office. In fact, the letter I got to please go get my fingerprints done came from the local Miami office and it didn't have an exact date/time, it just said to GO as soon as I could. I went the next day!
PLEASE, someone, give me some hope! Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Does anyone think I'm close to being done with this ordeal??? Is there anyone out there who was fingerprinted for a second time in March or April and already got their approval???
I appreciate any info you guys can share with me. I'm so desperate....
