I'm really concerned....

Hi,

I have a very big concern at the moment.

I am currently a permanent resident of the US. I received my greencard a few years ago (in 2005), and have lived in the US since then.

My greencard is category F22. It says on my green card that it expires in 2016.
At the time when I applied my mom only had a greencard, but last year my mom became a us citizen.

When I applied for my greencard, my uncle was the financial sponsor for me b/c my mom was not working (and she is still not working).

I’m concerned at the moment.

Suppose my uncle no longer wants to sponsor me? Will I lose my greencard?
Can he write a letter to the US Immigration Office, and remove himself as my sponsor? And can I lose my greencard and be sent back to my home country?

Is there any way that he can petition to withdraw his affidavit of support?

I would appreciate any comments.

Thank you very much Sirs/Madams

I don't think an affidavit of support can be withdrawn. Its a seriuos document and once signed and submitted the compromise of the sponsor is there for a number of years. I don't think this would lead to you loosing the GC.
Why is your uncle wanting to withdraw it?...unless you've been receiving govement aid in cash or smtg like that and not working, then he's not responsible for anything.

i-864 is a contract valid for either 10 years( 40 quarters of social security) or until you become a citizen. The sponsor can not withdraw it after you get green card.

He can not "stop being your sponsor" unless he dies. Or you die/become a citizen/you complete 40 quarters of contributions/you leave the country.

You got a permanent GC, there is nothing he can do to revoke it or anything. Stop worrying.
