Hello,

Today I had my oath ceremony. Everything worked very well. I have posted my experience at the San Jose thread. Thanks to everyone who have given me words of encouragement and well wishes along the way. This forum is great and is full of great people who try to help others to the best of their abilities and knowledge. I wish great luck to everyone still waiting to complete the naturalization process or other immigration process.

My oath experience is at:

Good luck to all

Huracan,
Congratulations. When I was new in this board, you were one of the people helping me out. Thanks for that.

If you can do stay around for a while, and help out some more :-)
Once again, Congrats!

Congratulations Huracan! Guess its time to sit back and relax a little... unless of course you intend to sponsor a parent or similar ;)

Sit back and relax? Well I wouldn't call waiting in a stupid post office to finally file my passport relaxing. But yeah at least all the INS stuff is finally over and you can burn all those old documents...

Thanks guys (and gals?, one is never sure who's behind the nicknames ;). I plan to stick around for a while more, as I am going to file N-600 for my child today. However, I understand that as time goes by I'll probably start losing touch with the intricacies of N-400 :( I'd also not like to be the guest that overstays his/her welcome. I'll be around for some months more, you can pretty much guarantee that with San Jose it is going to be quite a few months ;) I'm glad if I have been of help to someone and I hope I haven't given bad information to anyone.

Let's see how's the post office today for the passport.

Congrats, op. Your posts help a lot.
I tend to agree that our old info gets outdated and what I went through a year back is not valid if you consider present timelines for SJ. A new batch should keep taking over to keep the info relevant.

Ooh... never considered that. :p Its been more than a year since I took the oath, so maybe I'm already some way down that road.

When I wrote this I had JoeF in mind. He was, in general, a pretty good guy, but he got caught on flame wars and name calling. I don't want to end up there. I know I had my civil disagreements with him in the past (mostly on the are that he could never show a case of someone getting in trouble because of leaving an employer soon after the Green Card). However, some people probably though that he was too self-righteous and attacked him incessantly. I don't want to end like this :( Otherwise he used to provide a lot of accurate legal background to a lot of things. I know chances are you and I are not going to end like that.
