IL/N-659 for spouse received today (11/09). Both our ID's are on 12/14. Her interview is at 8.00am and mine is at 8.30 am on 12/14. However, we have an infant to take care. Don't have a baby sitter/day care as of now.

I am concerned that 1/2 hr gap between our interviews may not be sufficient for one of us to take care of the infant outside (while the other is going through the process). Does any one know if it would be possible to request the receptionist to give us sufficient gap between the interviews?

Below are some of my options that I can think of so far:

1) Look for and train the baby to be with a baby sitter in the next one month. Don't know if it would be possible to leave the baby with the sitter really early that morning (around 6 am), since we need to be there around 7 am.

2) Write a letter to the USCIS Charlotte office asking them if they can give us enough gap between interviews(since they do not provide a tel# to call)

3) Take an infopass and go and talk to some one at the center.

4) Postpone the interview for one of us.

I really don't want to do option#4 unless it is absolutely necessary. Experts (Bobsmyth, Al, WBH etc..) please provide inputs.

Thanks,
Speedy

Interview times are not as deterministic as one may think... I would ask the DO staff to add some 'padding' in your or your wife's schedule... They should be able to accommodate you.

Thank you for the response. I guess my next question is:
will I be able to ask for increasing the time gap between the interviews when I go there on that day?
or
Is it better to do it before hand? If yes, then should I take an infopass?

Thanks,
Speedy

No need to worry about it. Once at interview, just tell the IO that you have to wait until your wife is finished since you brought your child. Even then, that's only if you get called in before she isn't finished her interview.
No need to schedule an Infopass beforehand to tell them about this or reschedule your ID.
