IL: Any evidence of Selective Service Registration

Hi all, I apologize if this has been asked before. I really want to make absolutely sure, my interview letter says to bring "Any evidence of Selective Service Registration." I got my GC after 30 and I got here initially via F-1 when I was 20. Is there any need for this? Do I need to show proof that I don't need it?

Sss

There are many posts related to this in this forum. You can search and learn.

What I gather is:
- If you are not required (which is your case), usually Passport is sufficient proof to convince the officer. Your Green Card, 485 approval notice (if u still have it), H1B (if u were on one at that time), F1 all support the same point.

Thanks, I did search and saw that we can usually just ignore that. But I want to make sure just in case they insist on seeing it.

That is standard verbiage on all interview letters which makes it confusing since not everyone is required to provide evidence of selective service.
In your case, evidence of your non-immigrant status is enough to satisfy an IOs curiosity at the interview.

Can someone else confirm this is a standard verbiage? Do you have this on your letter and you are not asked to present letter from Selective Service?

My friend got his letter and it asked him to bring "Any evidence of Selective Service Registration". He was asked, but he didn't have it and his case was on hold for a good few months. His other friend did not have this clause on his letter.

Fyi, my wife also got the exact same verbiage on her interview letter, eventhough it obviously doesn't apply to her.

Folks,
When i tried to get my SS status & requirement, it gives me a :

Sorry.
Based on the information you submitted (information listed below), a registration record cannot be found for this individual.

Does that mean i was not needed to register and hence they dont have it in their records? Or is their system down or something(the phone line says 'we're sorry ... we're having major computer problems at the moment'). Anyone else get the same?

Thanks a bunch folks.
