IL accidently damaged, help!!

Hi, guys,

Thank you for the congrats. My kid accidently tore the interview letter from top to bottom (with some other junk mail). I am so sad.:(

I need your suggestions on how I would do next. Please help me to figure out.

1. I just tape the two parts together and go to the interview with it. (the bar code is not touched)

2. Wait for sometime and make a infopass, tell them I did not receive the letter and ask for another one. (Pretend the letter was lost on the way)


Is there any other options?

I know I screwed up this time.

Why lie

Youy don't have to lie or make up stories. Face the fact. Just call customer service & let them know to what exactly happened. If they can't assist you, make an infopass apptt and have your local DO print you out another IL for you. This is not an issue at all coz when you go for your interview that day, they will be expecting you anyways. They will have your name down on your list. See if you have enough time to make an infopass apptt before your interview date. I see that your interview is in the last week of Oct. You have plenty of time. If your local DO is not far to get to, just go there and get another copy of your IL. Don't stress out on this. It was just an accident. For next time, always make sure to make an extra copy of such imp documents and keep it at a safe place.
 
Thank you, Brother. Guess I have to make an infopass and ask for another copy. Yes, I learned my lesson that I should keep it out of reach of children.
 
If it's torn in two and can easily be taped together that should be sufficient. I'm sure many have brought their IL to interview in less than pristine condition in the past.
 
You may always get another copy of it by going to a local office thru infopass appointment.

It doesn't matter how bad it's torn, you can always tape it up to be interviewed so long it still shows your name and A#. Interview letter is just to notify you about the date, time and place of your interview and to get into the building.
 
are you joking? who cares if it's torn up - they have you in their system for an interview on date x. I bet you even if you had lost it, they would see you. I agree it's better not torn than torn but if you are really that bothered get an infopass - though at the infopass they might just look at you and be confused. I agree with prior posters either infopass if you're really bothered or just tape it up so that it looks ok enough to get past security.

Let us know what they say so we can all learn the lesson. Personnaly, i don't think this is going to be an issue.
