IGTE/Mastech guys --- Isn\'t this "fishy"

It has been four weeks already and I don\'t see any approvals for the guys whose amended I140s were submitted. Why are our applications on hold? If they(INS) give an answer saying that "company name change"..it is hard to believe because of two reasons: 1.Bell-Atlantic 2. COMSYS.

BellAtlantic changed their name to VERIZON. Their candidates are getting their Amended I140s approved in a week or two and subsequently their I485s.

Comsys changed to Metamor and back to Comsys...their candidates seem to have no problems.

So what is going on with IGTE/Mastech and similar companies? Why is the hold just for us? What do you guys think? How can we make it happen as it does for others to lift this hold? I beleive we got to do something to push this real quick to see something happening. Are we descriminated?

That is something IGATE\'s legal department should ask the INS. I think we are being discrimnated.

I don\'t know what we can do. We need some proof that other compnies are getting approvals or RFEs and our applications are on hold.

b I wonder if the problem is because we are placed in different companies with different Fed ids under one hoarding company IGTE. I for one received two W-2s this year as I was moved from MASTECH. But legal department seemed to think that was O.K as all our processing was done via IGTE.

This is purely masterminded by Mastech to hold guys through green card process and treat them as bonded labor Since we have no direct access to Company Attorney. All other companies doing some sort of justice to the employee. I really don\'t know what is going with mastech/igate legal dept. After changing the name they did not file I-140 for more than year though Legal Dept knows its duty. obviously INS is supporting employer not employee. All wee need to do is wait until our blood is sucked completely.

Good point. I had previoiusly posted a message requesting guys from Metamor/Comsys to post their experiences about company name change. But we do not see any of them discussing or raising their problems here. I didn\'t think about Verizon ( GTE and Bell atlantic merger ). Very good catch. Please guys if any of you passive readers are from these companies we request you to share your problems and experience here. If you guys are all receivng your approvals without any problems please let us know. In the meantime, if any of you guys knows of any other companies in similar situation lets request them to post here.

I think MCI, Worldcom and UUNET employees may also be in similar situation. That make 3 major companies. If all of these guys are not having any problems with company name change why is it that VSC has put only IGATE ( mastech ) I485s on hold ?
We need to get to the bottom of this.

daBloke do you have anymore details you can share with all of us. Do you know anyone from these 2 companies who has gotten an approval after the company name change ?

yYou are all correct - its been 4 weeks and we are yet to see approvals for guys whose amended I-140s were filed. Infact, I know a lot of guys whose names appeared 4 weeks ago and whose receipt notices from VSC have not yet showed up.

One reason could be that VSC is realy backlogged on sending out these receipt notices. The other thought - something which I consider more probable - is that probably the lawyers are taking their own sweet time to file the I-140s, which causes a delay in the receipts showing up in the mailbox!!!

I would once again urge those of you awaiting your I-140 receipt notices to talk to LD on why it is taking so long. If need be, talk to your lawyer as well - hopefully this will atleast convince LD to be more serious with our I-140s.

Given the sorry state of affairs at VSC and INS in general, we do not need another delay in our amended I-140 processing. Please also keep everybody posted on the feedback you get from LD/your HR representative
