IGTE Company Name Change:Amended I-140: Linking applications

HI Guys,
Just spoke to a very nice lady (Debra) at VSC

I gave her my INS ALien # (A#) and asked her to check that an amended _140 was filed for me. She could verify that indeed one had been filed. I then requested her to link this I-140 petition to my existing I-485 petition. She also wanted to find out how many dependent petitions I had. She said that my I-485, my wife\'s I-485, and my amended I-140 will now be kept to-gether. She refused to tell me how long it will take to approve my I-140 petition as it has been filed by IGTE. She also refused to give me the receipt number for the amended I-140 petition even though she had the information. ( I still haven\'t received a receipt notice from INS for the amended I140 petition).

One caveat: they are tracking how often we call... she was able to tell me that I called last week. I had to explain that last week, my amended I-140 petition could not be found even when I gave them my INS A#. She seemed convinced with my explanation and did not probe further.

Last week I called to have my I140 Amendment linked to my I485. I was told that it would get linkde automatically.

Could you please tell us what you have your company do to help you link this amended I-140 to your I-485?

   Is it as simple as putting "amended I-140" on the envelope?
   Or, there are certain steps need to be followed before the amended I-140 can be linked to pending I-485?

My employer resisted at first filing amemded 140 since they said it\'s just
a simple name change, however, because of the hold on my 485, they agreed
to file amemded 140 and supposedtly just filed it.

Anybody knows how long it takes to receive the amemded 140 receipt notice?
