If you use EAD, is AP *required* for travel ?

Consider this scenario.....

Working with a company on H1 and 485 pending and I have EAD.

I continue to work on H1, but also accept a part-time job ( in the weekend ) on the basis of my EAD.

Now when I travel outside the US, can I use my H1 stamp to re-enter ??
Or am I forced to use AP since I used EAD ??

If both are OK, which one is preferred ? (least hassles ?)

Ideas ?
 
At the moment you started to use EAD, your H-1 is automatically canceled. You are not H-1 holder any more. Your status is I-485 pending now. You better update your company. You also have to use AP for travelling.

OK -- no I've not done this -- I was merely looking at options.

So can I work with 2 different employers simultaneously while using my EAD ?
One if full time and one is marginal - part time - maybe 8 hrs a week or so ??
