if you donot want to ditch a company..

Hi, I am on L1 from a certain India based company "A" and I am planning to switch to another oompany "B" which will process H1 for me. If I want to resign my first company "properly" I will need to give 30 days notice and I think I do not have binding to go back to India to resign.

Now, to stay on safer side, I must resign only after the H1 filed by B is approved. I read in multiple postings over there that as soon as H1 is approved , L1 status gets invalid and after that if I continue working on it, it is illegal. In this case, how can I give 30 days notice to the company A?

Any one has tried out separating from the company "properly". I talked with few friends who changed from L1 to H1... but all of them "fled away".. Is there any better way to do that??
