If my wife and child need to apply H4, when I apply H1B

Hi, All

The one thing I want to know is if my wife and child need to apply H4, when I apply H1B and then apply green card. We are Canadian Landed Immigrant.

Where are you?

Are in canada? If so, you apply for your H1 and then when you go to the US consulate (as landed immigrant you can walk in, no appointments needed) to get your H1 stamp in the passport you can get the H4 for your dependents also stamped. If you are in US and you are changing your visa to h1, it is better to apply for a visa change to H4 for your dependents.

For green card, separate applications for your dependents are required at 485 stage ( after Labor and I140)
