If I only apply for AP without applying for an EAD, could my family still come on H4 visa?

If I only apply for an AP without applying for an EAD, could my family still come on H4 visa? If I do not apply for an EAD, my status will still be H1. Will it allow me to go back my home country to help my family get an H4 visa? Does anyone have any idea about this? Thank you.

If you have a valid H1, you don\'t need AP and your family should still get H4.
If your H1 expired, than you need EAD to continue to work and AP to travel. Not sure how to bring your family in this case.
