If I get a GC through the parenthood, may my wife get it at the same time too?

My kid by my first marriage who is over 21 and the US citizen is going to sponsor my GC. If it matters, I'm out of the States so it'll be CP.

My question is if my new wife may get her GC at the same time as I will or the only way is me to file a petition for her as a spouse of a GC holder (which may take 5-7 years).

Sorry, I didn't clearly get it. "He can file" means the kid needs to file two I-130 or he will file I-130 for me only and I'll just bring my wife with me to the consulate? Thanks!

How old was your over-21 child when you married your current wife?

I didn't make myself clear again :( "He can" means it's the only way to get her to the States or my boy may file I-130 for me only and then I and my wife both show up in the consulate and get visas?

My point is I'd like to avoid filing "an I-130 each for both of us" if possible and have him file I-130 for me only.

Your son can file just for you but then it will only be for you. Your wife would not derive anything from that. She needs to have her own I-130 filed by your son in order to be eligible.
 
Not possible. No derivative status for immediate relatives. She needs an I-130 filed by her stepson. Why are you trying to avoid filing a second I-130?

Because he doesn't have enough imcome himself and a joint sponsor for me may be my ex-wife, she doesn't mind. But somehow I'm aware my ex wouldn't be sponsoring my new wife ;)
