If I-485 approved while outside US with valid AP, can I get in US using AP?

Have to travel on business using AP. PD is curren, I-485 have been pending for long time. Wonder the consequence of travel on AP? If I-485 approved while outside US with valid AP, can I get in US using AP? If I-485 denied, is my AP expired automatically? Can I still use AP to get in and file a petition? Any direction or pointing to law document is appreciated.
