If GC\'s run out?

With the recent pace of I-485 approvals, I think that it is possible that PD\'s could regress somewhat and the Visas for this year could even run out. Do you know when next year\'s GC quota will kick in? Is it in October?

The GC# (which is A#)are already assigned, so how can it run-out ?

i believe he is talking about the visa number instead GC#. As you know they have certain quote visa number for each year which starts OCtober to September next year

That is correct A# is the number on your GC.
However, you can not determine the number of Immigrant visas used up for the year based on this number, because I-485s are not approved sequentially, and the PD movement is only an estimate. The INS does not know how many applications will come in a month. And if the PD is current they have to accept them. The PD movement control is far from a science.

Yes, I was talking about the quota of visa numbers for this year getting exhausted and it seems from your reply that the new set of visa numbers will be available in October so even if the visa numbers run out in the next couple of months, the new numbers should be available in October so it should be okay for people who are close...
