If finger prints are unreadable will they tell you right away?

I went today for my and my family fingerprinting. I had to bring my four year old son with me and the lady had a lot of trouble taking my fingerprints. She was great though and rolled my fingers at least 10 times each. Finally she took my picture, made me sign, checked all numbers and let me go.

Should I assume all is fine with the fingerprinting? The screen was blinking red from time to time ...

I had done my fingerprint today too. The lady tried several times and most of my prints were barely showing and had the same problem like you. Even though they finally got through with all green, they took a back up copy of painting my fingers with black ink and put separate back up fingerprints on single sheet of paper.

USCIS submits your FPs to FBI immediately and if they are unreadable, you'll get another FP notice a week or 2 after. My first FPs were unreadable and after a week I got another FP notice to take them again.

I took one on 10/17 and yesterday I got notice asking me to take again...

I had the same trouble when I took the first one. The lady there told me I had many little lines interfering fingerprints (hello, but it's part of my fingerprints, isn't it??) My question is, my fingerprints will still be same (forever I guess), will it make difference even if I take one more time???

Had the same issue with my FPs as well, have many little lines which I always thought was part of my fingers. In any case, after they take your 2nd FPs and its still unreadable, they will ask later on for police clearance letters from the last 5 years of the places you've lived as an RFE when they're ready to adjudicate your application. Good luck!

Thank you very much for the information. I guess I need to prepare the clearance. There's no way I would pass next time (unless they realize there are billions people with billions different kinds of fingerprints and then change their technology) . I even got prints in INK last time and it looks like no use at all.

Just hope this will NOT delay my AP:mad:

I suggest you take the police clearance letters when you take ur next FPs and ask a supervisor if they can include the letters in your application rather than
waiting for an RFE.
