iEAD - Need Gurus Help...

Hi Gurus,

I am an Oct2001 filer, still waiting. Working on pending H1-ext, for which I got an RFE and responded to it two weeks ago. Also applied for EAD for the first time two weeks ago.

Since I did not know about the rule that a person can't work for more than 240 days on pending H1-extension and neither my attorney ever mentioned it, I am in a situation where my 240 days will be over by the end of this month.

Are there any chances of getting an interim EAD if I go to local INS office in Newark, NJ with all the documents I have, in case neither my H1-extension nor 485 gets approved by the end of this month?

Really appreciate any suggestions.

I believe you can get the iEAD from a local office if you have applied and 90 days have passed. If not they might just ask you wait until then.
 
If you have applied for EAD, you may get in a little more than a month. Recently I got my EAD applied for the first time and approved with my H1 expiring in the first wek of next month

How long did it take for your case to get approved after RD?

Any one else who applied for fresh EAD recently can answer this question?

I applied for IEAD on July 3rd and have not heard anything on my case yet. My H1-B is expiring on Oct 1st. I am not sure what I should be doing in case I do not get my I 485 or EAD approved
 
I applied for EAD(first time) on 5th august and got approved. I found out that it was approved by calling the automated system on sept 10th.

Yes

I had applied for EAD online RD June 9. Till now it is not approved. I went to Boston office (Sept 15) and they gave me a new one (valid for 8 months). They don't charge you anything but make sure you fill a new EAD application and prepare it before going there. They had me fill one while I'm there.
 
Has anyone gotton an interim EAD card from some local office before 90 days of applying for it in VSC?
