iEAD expiring, EAD RFE not recd., I-485 pending

RfE sent on 12/21

EAD RFE was issued for my wife her iEAD expires in little more than 3 months. We did not receive the RFE due to change of address. We have been sending Fax inquires and finally we got a letter from INS stating that EAD RFE will be resent yesterday. Should we apply again for EAD, so that she can get an iEAD in 3 months or should we wait for the EAD RFE.
 
We applied for I-485 in June and file has not been assigned to an officer yet.
 
Your Suggestions please, Please let me know if anyone is in the same boat.

Try for Interim EAD

If your EAD has been pending more than 90 days, you can get the interim EAD by visiting the nearest sub or district office , irrespective of RFE (assuming the RFE is for a trivial issue like misplaced document).
You can also give the response to the RFE at the same time.
Applying for another EAD might not help. Since you might still get the same RFE and so it might not help when it is crucial.

The problem is that the iEAD that we got expires in nearly 3 months. Can you get another iEAD after your current iEAD expires.

If I apply for another EAD, firstly will the except the application
If they except the application I can go and get a iEAD for another 280 days in that case.

It is not called iEAD...

You can apply as many EADs you want. There is no restriction in applying multiple EADs. But if there was a RFE, i would rather wait to know what the RFE is before sending another bunch of applications.
INS will accept(is that what you meant by except?) your application.

If you know or suspect the reason for RFE then you can send another EAD with the correct set of documents. To get a interim EAD , most of the INS offices want you to wait 90 days from the receipt date of EAD.

If you are working using EAD, you need to get overlapping EADs. to maintain your employment.
