iEAD at Jacksonville,FL office

Yes, one of my friend went to local office in Jacksonville, FL. The first reply was "We stopped issuing iEAD at this office".
But later on she asked him to come an see another officer who is assigned to look after his I-485.
Yesterday, I spoke to Texas IIO and as per them, "If INS failed to make a decision on your EAD renewal, You can continue working until the case is decided".
But as per the lawyer, We cannot work.
My friend is Confussed. !!!
Myself too in same boat. But my EAD expires in 3/7/2003.

TSC EADs are coming in 90-100 days. If your EAD application has been pending for more than 90days then you can try for an interim EAD (with a letter from employer) at the nearest district or sub office. Jacksonville, FL is a sub office.
It all depends on how articulate and convincing you are. I know a few who got their EADs recently from Jacksonville and others who had to take the pilgrimage to Miami and some others who are twiddling their thumbs...
