Ideas on celebrating AOS approval...

Hey, all these talks about indian food is making me homesick..

We\'re planning our India trip this year, its been 2 yrs since our last visit. Waiting for the approval..hope we get it soon..

Its good to see discussions other than gc, something to keep us going and not lose hope..

could find only Anarkali restaraunt on Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA

Please give me more details about Anarbagh Indian restaraunt at Ventrua Blvd

the one i was mentioned in ventura blvd ( Anarbagh) ....It is a nice place ..more Gora\'s then us desi\'s go there...usually crowded.
little more expensive then the regular indian joints.
Cross steet is 22721 Ventra blvd ,woodland hills ,Ph :818 224 3929

There is a shalimar too close by but i liked Anarbagh better.

If you plan to go during the weekend for lunch... you can combine it with a trip to the MAlls nearby ..

Actually there are two Malls nearby one is westfield and the other is fallbrook mall( the better mall).West filed also has a indian joint in the food court.

Also i read in one of your postings that you have a daughter...you could show her the miniature sand castle ( sand modelling )display
in oaks mall in thousand oaks

You plan the trip as follows :
lunch at anarbagh and then drive further on 101 north towards ventura and exit at jans road for "Oaks mall" for the sand modelling display.

If not from anarbagh you can go to fallbrook mall.

for directions us the internet...keywords okas mall and fallbrook.

Dal Kabab - This is an excellent tasty kebab -

You use chana dal and make kebab out of that - Guys if u want the recipe I shall ask my wife to post it

Nothing else to do because CSC is in deep sleep mode - Kumbakaran please wake up.

No - I am not a food freak
No - I do not weigh 300 pounds from eating all that stuff

But

can you post the dal kabaab recipe ? my wife\'s a veggie. i am sure she will like it.
 
Chana Dal Kebab and Chutney recipe

Ingredients

Chana Dal
Bread - preferably Ranch Rolls available in bakery section of Ralphs/Vons
Jalapenos
Cilantro
Jira
Anardana (Dried Pomegranate seeds)
Salt
Cashew Nuts

Method

Soak Chana Dal in water overnight and boil it in the morning.
Grind Jalapenos/Cilantro/Jira/Anardana.
Grind Cashew Nuts separately (make it coarse )
Soak Bread in water and add all ingredients.
Roll into kababs in your hand into approx 3 inch long and 1 inch diameter
Deep Fry in oil

I am sorry that I have not given you exact quantities - but I am sure Your wife will be able to figure out the quantities.

Eat with Chutney

Chutney recipe
--------------------
Ingredients
Cilantro
Jalapeno
Ginger
Garlic
Onion
Salt
Lemon
Channa (This is Roasted Channa available in any indian stores - sometimes it is available in full and sometimes in halves)

Grind all ingredients in Mixer/Grinder

did I just land up in desifoodportal.com by mistake. Boy, this is so much more fun. Exchanging great food and eating joints. It\'s making me hungry and it isn\'t even lunch time yet.
RSRGC, that recipe sounds excellent, I am gonna be working on it this weekend - nothing else to do up north (in Portland), the forecast says rain, rain and more rain :-(
 
guess what i was wondering....

not that you weigh 300 pounds but if in bombay next time you will be eating out at all these places then when will you spend time with your family there . i am homesick and as soon as i get my approval i will be in bombay with my family and that is all i know for now

but u have to eat also
and 3 weeks is a long time
You know 2 years back we went to Bombay and when we returned we realised that we had not done so many things.

This time I shall make a list and cross out the things I visit and I shall do that definitely and surely and positively

But only and only and only if CSC gives me my approval

waiting and waiting and waiting - thats all we can do

I know what you mean. I did Grand Canyon hike down and up in one day, when I was a student at ASU, nearly killed myself. My old bones now require more training. I am training to do the Valley of Flowers in Kumaon Mountains this June ( if I get my vacation Approved )

Thanks for the tip. BTW, I have not been able to post for a while because of ID problems.
I know I can send an email to Monica, but I do not remember what email Id I had provided.
I created this ID a long time ago. As I understand it, one needs to reply to an email from
them to be all set. Actually, I do not even remember my password. I just never log out from
the site, so each time I access the site I am automatically in.
If I sent Monica an email providing her a new email Id, it may not work.
If that were to work, what is to stop anybody asking them to reset somebody else\'s Id.
So, the only other option is to create another ID. That would open a can of worms.
Again, whats stopping somebody else to use some other ID and claim they are me and that they
lost the previous Id. There were times that I badly wanted to post my perspective on a certain
topic or answer somebody\'s question. It had occurred to me to send you a pvt msg and ask you to post
it, but I did not want to bother you. I wish you speedy approval of your RFE reply.
BTW, I will have my wife try out that Daal Kabaab this weekend. She is also a vegetarian and will like it.

If you are able to send private message to rsrgc from your ID means you are able to logon with your ID to this board. If it is the case I guess you can go to "Preferences" section and see exactly which e-mail ID you entered there!

with Raging waters at San Dimas

or other water theme parks around your residence ??

How do u guys like this idea

As I mentioned earlier - no CSC approvals so can only dream of different methods to celebrate approval.
