Hello Immi experts,

I have come to US from India 5 months back being deputed on job by my company.

My L1 visa and I94 expires in April 2006.

Is it possible for me to extent my I94 without going back to India? Someone advised me that it is very difficult and generally not advisible.

What is the success rate of getting it extended ?

Will there is be any problems to get visa next time if I extend visit this time.

Please help me out quickly so that I can postpone my ticket (confirmed so every extension will cost a lot) from Next month to appropriate month.

Warm Regards,
Manoj

not i94

Manoj,

Your concern is not the i94. You should apply for a visa extension and you should apply now. Once you have applied, you can continue past april 06 even if uscis has still not adjudicated your case. If this extension is approved you will recieve an approval letter that will also contain an i94 allowing you to stay in the country until the petition expiry date. This is enough for you to stay in the country.

But once you go out of the US, you will need to get a visa stamped on your passport to enter the US again.

L-1b can be extended upto 5 yrs and L-1a can be extend upto 7 years.

Visa extension was possible only one year back and not now?

Hello kaisersose,

Thaks a lot for your quick reply, someone told me that visa extenstion was possible one year back and that now it is not possible to do that. Can you suggest me some government website or place where I can get information about this?

Warm Regards,
Manoj
