I've been married to my wife for the past 4 years and got the approval for the conditional I485 green card in January 2001. Today, we had our I785 interview to remove the conditional status for the permanent residency and we were told that no decision was taken and, most likely, a second interview invitation may be sent to us within 8 months or so.
Here's my question: while we wait to get this done, is it possible to send the N400 application for naturalization based on the fact that I have more then 3 years of marriage to the same US national and am withing the 90 days period preceding the 3rd anniversary of my conditional green card approval date?
