I485 Transfer to Chicago INS

Hi,
I switched jobs in january this year and my 485 was transferred to the local INS office in Chicago. Here are the details:

RD: 06/12/2001
ND: 07/27/01
FP: 01/09/01
TD: 06/26/02

I'm planning on being in India leaving christmas day returning 01/20/03. Does anyone have a feel for the lead time in Chicago for interviews? Also, how much advance notice do they give you when they actually schedule the interview?

no need to hurry, ofcourse this is not the forum for this,there is another forum to discuss.

As of now it will take another 3 to 5 months.

dfagen19, why do you think your case got transferred to local INS?

Did u change jobs or did you get married just before filing 485?

i have no idea why my case got transerred, although I suspect that it is because of my job change. I am not ver familiar with the rules for cases getting flagged. My attorney does not seem to know either.... I got maried 12/99 which was well before my I485 was filed (06/01)
