could someone give me a few pointers on filling the 485 supplement a form?
here's my backstory:
came to the US almost 20 years ago (inspected by US), father filed for me and everything went smoothly until i had the meeting for a GC. apparently our files were lost!! they told us they will contact us back. months later nothing. we were advised to file again and we did. at some point our files were stuck somewhere. all this was around 1998 - 2000. my mother then became a UCS and filed for me and my sister (i130 approved - filed before april 30th). at that time i just turned 21, and my sister 20. my sister now has her GC and i am trying to file for my package. i have a ss# that is not valid w/out an EAD. i've been employed throughout most of those years until last spring. currently unemployed now.
since i have to file a supplement a, i should fall under the section 245(i) which states that my status may be adjusted to a LPR in lieu of consular visa processing while remaining in the US. the question that's tripping me is #2 which asks if i fall into one of more of these categories:
a. i entered the United States as an alien crewman;
b. I have accepted employment without authorization;
c. I am in unlawful immigration status because I entered the United States without inspection or I remained in the United states past the expiration of the period of my lawful admission;
d. i have filed (except throug no fault of my own of for technical reasons ) to maintain, continuously, lawful status;
e. i was admitted to the United States in Transit without a Visa;
f. I was admitted as a nonimmigrant visitor without a visa;
g. I was admitted to the United States as a immigrant in the S classification; or
h. I am seeking employment-based adjustment of status and am not in lawful nonimmigrant status.
none of these applies to me except perhaps the second part of (c) I remained in the United states past the expiration of the period of my lawful admission
is this what i should be selecting?? what sort of documentation would i need to provide showing that i've been in the US from those dates (1988 - 2000)?
also, is it acceptable for me to send a print out of these forms that i filled online (i.e. forms found at www.visapro.com)?
