Hi,
As I was checking me and my wife's status online I noticed a change.

RD: Nov 15 2001
FP: April 24 2002

It now says (for both of us):
"Your I485 APPLICATION TO ADJUST TO PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS was received on November 15, 2001. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 160 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."

It used to say "It is taking between 975 and 999 days..." up until a week ago. The rest of the message is the same. I haven't received an RFE or anything yet. What might this change mean?

- Should I be expecting an RFE soon?
- Is it possible they approved our case?

I have one more question. Both me and my wife have H-1Bs right now and we had H-1Bs at the time we applied also. My wife will be changing her job soon (and her application is dependent on mine):

1. We are planning on using the EAD card and not H-1B since the new company won't sponsor H-1Bs. Would that be an issue? Should we do anything special for "not using" H-1B anymore? Is any paperwork needed?

2. Should we inform INS about this? Is it required?

Thanks in advance,
Bahadir
