I485 RFE - Complicated

Hi Gurus,

I received my I485 RFE today and it demands the following documents.

1) Documentary evidence to support the correct and legal form of my Name.

Reason: As my First Name and Last Name have been swapped in some of my documents(like H1 Paper,Medical and Tax Returns) , My RFE beared the following lines..

"Please submit documentary evidence to support the correct and legal form of your name, as this is the name that will appear on your Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)."

2) EVL
3) Last 2 months paystubs
4) Last 2 year Tax returns+ W2.

I have already submitted affidavits from my parents regarding my birth certificate which also have my name printed correctly.

Since My Passport shows my Family name as First and then my name as Second, the SSN also have my name displayed in the reverse order.
(ie. My Family Name first then my My Name as last)
since the Tax Returns is also filed based on the SSN Name display, It also has the name in the Reverse order..

My Questions:
---------------
1) What supportive documents would I need to arrange so as to proove the UCIS for the correct Name display??
2) what is the I-551 form???

I shall be very thankful if you folks could come up with any valuable suggestions that would help me...

Your case is complicated.Consult any attroney. How long it took to get rfe in mail and where it was sent? I am also expecting a rfe.

Your case may not be that complicated as people here are saying. Many people who had the same kind of situation got approved with out any RFE. Many people especially Indians swap the last name and first name when they applied their social security card. Just see a lawyer and he should be able to draft you a letter explaining the situation. Please be frank and tell them that you got confused with the first name and the last name thing when applying for ssn and after you got the ssn you went by those names on all others(Tax returns, H1, Medical papers) and also tell them what exactly is your first and last names should be. I guess this is not a problem at all since this just the first and the last name swap. Look at the following thread. dsatish got approved with out any problem. Don't worry your case will be approved without any problem.

Very Smiple RFE you got it is truely Just Normal. You can consider that you are going to approve very soon.(Once RFE sent back)

Yep!! This is not a complicated RFE at all, i had seen out of 100 rfe people 93 people got same type of rfe you got......

1. 1) Documentary evidence to support the correct and legal form of my Name.
Ans: I beleive This one also will under is Biometric Info, (You no need to do any thing lawyer will take care of this.). This is really simple. Do not worry

2) EVL
Ans: Make sure to cover every thing you covered, Search this forums "EVL Format" and look for 'dsatish' thread that one is good. Just type as it is...

3) Last 2 months paystubs
Ans: you know about this

4.Last 2 year Tax returns+ W2.
Ans: You know about this.

Once again buddy!!! you are totally fine it is real simple RFE. Mine Is exactly like you except Biometric thing, i got BC.

So Just Relax......... :)

Chitts, if your passport has the name in reversed order, it maybe a good idea to get that corrected at some point in time. Since passport is the source for all subsequent documents here.

Still I have not yet received my copy of RFE. But my attorney has receivd the same with in a week from the date, when I recd the email notification.

Thanks for yr feedback. But my passport names are correct(First name and Last name). My name in the SSN got swaped which i didn't realise that time, and was the root cause for all the confusion.

You won't get it because it was never sent to you. RFE always goes to attorney and only attorney. If there is no attorney, then it goes to petitioner or beneficiary.
