All,

I am planning on filing 485 for my wife when I get my citizenship. She has an I-130 already approved.

Is it a must that I get the medical done so that I can file both 485 and medical together, or can I file the 485 and then carry the medical in for the interview?. I would prefer the latter so that I can get the application for 485 in as soon as possible ...

Regards

Manoj

it depends on your local office. The rule of thumb is: If AOS takes less than a year - you pretty much have to send the medicals with AOS package. If it takes more than a year, you can bring them to the interview. However, you may want to call 1-800 number and ask about the rules in your local office.

If you have to send medicals with AOS papers, why doesn't she go through a medical exam before your citizenship interview date? It only takes a day. You stil have time before July. Then, after you get the naturalization certificate, you can file for her AOS the very next day.
