i apped for 485 at nsc in 05/01...got ead/ap/fp etc. got married in 12/01. my spouse came on a H4 in 01/02.
will app for her ead/ap/fp/aos later this month.
the lawyer says that our apps will be approved together.

for NSC, it is taking 12 months, by that rate, I should get the 485 adjudicated by 05/02. Will adding my apouse to my application,
delay my case?

can my spouse go to school while on H4?

in the mean time once my spouse gets an ead, are they eligible for a tuition waiver / fellowship / graduate assistantship either in the state of residence or beyond?

Finally, while the 485 is being processed, is it ok (by the INS) for the spouse (the one whose application is appended w/ the
principal applicant) to stay and study in another state / city ?

Spouse going to School.

There should be no problem for one to attend school on H4. However, you cannot accept any position that pays you a tution/salary. Once you get the EAD approved then you are eligible to get assitantship etc. I beleive getting a reduced tution is based on residency and is decided by the school based on their own rules( normally 1 year residency in the state is required). As far I know, there no bar where a PR lives as long as INS is informed of the address where s/he can be reached.
  Good Luck with your plans.
