Yay ! I am approved for my 10 years GC.

Super easy interview. Called in by a nice lady officer at 9 am, took us to her office, took oath.

We were just sitting there and waiting for her to look thru and stamping the paper work, she ask if we have children together and I said yes and handed her the birth certificate, ask for my birthdate, my wife's birthdate, my parents name.

Thats it, no proof of joint account, pictures, even when I ask if she wanted to see some pictures, she kindly decline and stamp my passport, told me I should be receiving my GC in a couple weeks.

Thanks to all of the advice on this forum, especially the heavy poster, and thanks a million.

Congratulations!
I guess your kid and the fact that you guys have been married for almost 3 years played a role. Good for you!

Great News! I'm really happy for you!

Congratulations :). Yes, the kid makes a huge difference and so does the fact that you guys have been married for 3 years already.

I have one more question though, I dont think the officer mention about the green card status, if I am going to get a conditional one or a 10 years one. Does the system know that I have been married for 3 years and automatically issue a 10 years card or should I have remind the officer.

Thanks

Don't worry - you would get a 10 yrs LPR card - even if the officer didn't mention about it - the system knows. Our adjudicating officer didn't mention anything about removing the conditions etc. and my husband was wondering if he would get an unconditional one :p But the welcome letter he received a few days back has a paragraph about 'removing conditions'.

You should get the welcome letter within 3-4 days and that would confirm what kind of LPR card you will be getting.
