Our 485 was approved yesterday (Got an email from USCIS). Thanks to all you guys for the support so far!!

I have two questions..

1) Since I just got an email which said that they have mailed the approval notice, what's next? Do I have to get my passport stamped (Is this madatory?). Or do I just wait for my card? How long does it take to get your card?

2) If we need to get our passport stamped, do we need to take our EADs? I reason I'm asking this is that our EADs have expired (did not renew it) and we are still on our H1Bs.

Thanks again for all your help! Please find my dates below.

PD: 6/4/2001
I140/I485 ND: 2/7/2004
FP: 4/2/2005
I4845 approved: 2/19/2006

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations!!!

Hi nite_flite,

congratulations!!! enjoy. BTW are you BE2 or EB3? and are you from a retrogressed country?

Congratulations on your approval.

1) if they mail you the approval notice, there will be instructions on how you should get passport stamped. Sometimes you just receive the card. but i think you will have to stamp since USCIS said you will get notice not the card. After stamping, they will tell you to wait up to a year but you should get the card within 3 months. I got mine in 1 month.

2) you should bring all your EADs, APs. they will take them. However, they would not grill you for not bringing them. There will be instruction on what to bring when you use INFO pass to schedule appointment. please read that carefully.

Enjoy

card

Last week, I got my card in less than a week after my case was approved. It use to take long for USCIS to send the cards but these days they are pretty fast. Once you get the card, as far as I know there is no need to get the passport stamped.

Hi Miav,

After your PD became current, how much time did u wait to see the approval? My PD became current on March 1st and I am still waiting to see my approval.
