I485 approval may be delayed if you travel outside US ????

My wife got a RFE for medical whereas I was approved in Jan 2002.We replied to the RFE immediately and then she proceeded on vaction to India for 3 months .We expected the RFE to be cleared in less than 40 days but this did not happen.She returned last week to US using advanced parole and withing a week got her 485 approval.
Is this a coincidence or is INS really careful after the blunder it made to issue visas to dead terrorists? Maybe now they are also looking when it comes to approving the case whether the person is in the US presently or not.
On the AP it says that the adjustment will be resumed after the alien re-enters the US so is INS really enforcing this rule?
Are people still getting approved on 485 while outside US ?
Has anybody else have the same experience?

I had thought TSC had not process I-485 at all last week. According to the AVM, my daughter\'s AP Approval Notice was sent out on 5/21/02, spouse\'s AP Approval Notice was sent out on 5/22/02, still do not know the Approval Dates, mine is still not approved. I also will not post my details here, please check the Tracker for the Info.
