I485 AND EAD Receipt

Hello Experts,

My Husband's attorney informed us, she had filed my I485 and EAD papers last month(April-23rd). But till now, we have not yet received the receipt from INS. We have checked our lawyer also. Even my Lawyer office didn't received anything.

Also, the INS didn't encash our checks for the filing fees.

Is such a case is normal? My husband filed his 485 papers a year before.(i.e during last jan-2003). I currently hold a valid H1B visa and my husband holds EAD.

Invalid Receipt Number

Is there any possiblity that INS sends invalid Receipt Number?
The reason why I am asking is for one of my case number, INS online says "Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct.". But I have copy of Receipt of Notice which was sent by INS. Any ideas??
 
Maybe you could try checking again after some time. The same has happened to me before, (I checked the next day and I got the online response for my rec. nos.) It could be that their system was down when you tried.
 
It's been almost one month I received my Receipt notice. Since then, it is showing invalid case number error message only. I am just wondering, Has the application is really filed? ( Ofcourse they sent me receipt notice, but it doesn't showup online ). Or the application is filed properly, but there is some problem with online status? What is right and what is wrong? Can anyone help me??
