I140 RFE message

Hi, I filed I140/I485/I765/I130 at the same time on 09/12/02
ND: 09/23/02

I got a RFE on DEC.2 to request my diploma.

today I have checked on line status.
Here is the message:
On December 19, 2002, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 90 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However, because preliminary processing was complete before we requested the additional material, the remaining processing time for this stage of your case is approximately 180 days. You will receive a written decision on this case.

I do not understand what it means. Since the preliminary processing is complete, why is it taking longer (another 180 days ) to make decision?

Just ignore those general messages you see out there. You should be able to know about your case status much earlirer than 180 days. Try not to analyze or understand INS :D
 
Thanks. It is comforting to hear that. i wish I can hear them soon. Not three month later. :(
 
Don't get too comfortable with that message...It is annoying

I don't mean to scare you, but expect anything from INS.

I sent the RFE reply for I-140 (ND : 04/25) on 09/26. INS updated the system on 10/16 with the Response received message.....and then it's silence.....Nothing now after over 2 months...I am not expecting anything in this year anyway, but hope they at least approve it in Jan.
