III. Concurrent Adjudication of Concurrently Filed I-140 and I-485
Applications

Many individuals have inquired about the new CIS policy on concurrent
adjudications of concurrently filed I-140 and I-485 applications.
Prior
to the implementation of the new policy, the CIS adjudicated and
reported
processing times for the I-140 and the I-485 applications separately.
Under the new policy, all concurrently filed I-140 and I-485
applications
will be adjudicated concurrently. A concurrently filed I-485
application
will no longer be tracked based upon the local I-485 processing time;
instead, the local I-140 processing time will control. Stand alone
I-485
applications (applications filed after the approval of an immigrant
petition) are considered a separate workload category from the
concurrently filed cases.

Concurrently filed cases will be processed based on the I-140 receipt
date, however, only those concurrently filed applications in which the
I-485 is ready for adjudication (cases in which the fingerprint and
name
checks have cleared government review) will be sent to adjudications.

As per my lawyer's comment, concurrent processing should be fast. But you know, anything can happen and let's hope for the best.
