I guess my I140 was already with the AO when I filed for 485/765/131 last year. An RFE was raised and even before the RFE response was entered into the VSC system on 10/16, my EAD was approved on 10/10. However, I did not believe that the status of I140 changed after filing 485. I also remeber that my lawyer told me that they were trying to put together my 140 and 485 files and that's why, I think, it took almost 3 months after RFE ND to approve my 140. Hope it helps.
