I140 Approved, delaying I485 !! repercussions

Please advise...I have recieved I140 and am ready to file I485. I am getting married in 4

months from now, so I have to wait for atleast 4 months before filing I485. How will it

effect my GC process? Will my GC get delayed by just 4 months or it can be much more?

If you think INS will NOT approve your I-485 in 4 months, then go ahead and file for your I-485 and once you get married as per your plan, file for your spouse\'s I-485. No problem as long as you get married before your I-485 is approved.

Your approval will be delayed by the same or greater amount. Based on the people filing between now and then your approval will be delayed. Otherwise there are no repurcussions. You can also file now, get married and then add your spouse to your application. If the FP comes before or during your visit, it can be delayed too.

If you have a secure job for at least 10-14 months, you are fine.
