I140/485 continuation?

Hi Gurus

In 1999-2000 my then employer (company A) filed for LC which got approved, then filed for I140 which got approved a few days after i had quit & left US because of personal reasons. Now i'm back working for company B & was wondering if i should contact company A to re-hire me and start off from where i left the GC process (i.e, file for 485), provided it can be done? Any info if processing can be continued with the same employer after a gap in employment?

Once approved the LC and the I-140 can be used for further
process anytime. The Company at its discretion can continue the
process.
