Guys,

My 140/485 got approved on last friday. Here are the details:

I140/485 Concurrent Filing EB2
ND: 09/18/2003
AD: 10/15/2004 (both I140/485 together)
FP: 08/10/2004
Wife FP: 10/12/2004 waiting for AD

I am planning to go to India this friday (10/22/2004), i have few questions:

1. Can i still use advance parole to re-enter US

2. I still don't have I485 approval notice, but i have e-mail notification of I485 approval, so is it possible to use that for I551 stamping ??

I don't want to postpone my confirmed tickets as it would cost 500 USD, secondly there is a recent news that they might cancel I551 stamping process.

Please let me know if any one has used web notification for getting I551 stamping

Thanks,

If I were U, I would use my common sense>
Wait and Get the stamp and then Leave even if it meant spending $1000 more.
Don't take unnecessary chances and screw up in this uncertain world unless you have an extreme emergency. Spend $500, postpone tickets, get PP stamped and then leave and have a peace of mind when in Coorg !.
You would look like a stupid if anything were to go wrong now. I hope u understand. I't telling this in ur best interest.

Dude,

The problem is there is a recent news that they might cancel I551 stamping at all.

I don't know whether i would receive the I1485 approval notice before 10/26.

I have to leave the country as it is my brother's marriage

I don't think there is any specific date on I-485 approval notice to stamp passport (It could be on any wednesday). If your visit is for short term, you can go to India first with valid AP and get it stamped after your return.

Hope this helps. Again check with your lawyer.

Congratulations! whether you go with or without your stamp or plastic card. :)

I do like chvista's cautious approach though.
