I131 question

hello. this might be out of topic here, but it seems this forum is the most active.

if my dad is a greencard holder and he needs to be abroad for more than a year, will I-131 work for this matter? please explain

Form I-131 will work, he needs Re Entry permit it can be issued for 2 years stay out of US but takes longer to get it. Read the processing times of his service center or ask the lawyer

Go to BCIS site and then go to form I-131 and read the pages that have Instructions for re entry permit
