I130 question

My parents filled my I130 application ( Permanent resident filing for an unmarried son/daughter over 21) about 3 years ago. I haven't recieved a final word yet.

I am getting married in June(in India). Both of us are on H1-B visas here in US.
From my research it looks like if I file for him right now the whole application will pretty much slow down for several years.

Is there any chance that we can remain on seperate status(h1-b's) until I get a final word for my green card and then file for him to get a greencard (so that my processing is not slowed down?).

once you marry your parents' petition will be null, since PRs can't apply for their married children.

What do you mean:
it looks like if I file for him right now the whole application will pretty much slow down for several years

you apply for his what?

I meant applying for his greencard once I get mine.
Does my parents petition get nullified like that? They filed 3 years ago...when I was single. So basically no change is allowed in the status no matter how long it takes for you to get the gc?

Hmm...

Unfortunately, YES. Marriage is a bad thing while your petition is still pending....

You might as well win the lottery and be done with the greencard process, but if you get married.... it is good bye to that petition...
