I130 for spouse

My question today is, why does it take so long for the papers to be processed for a spouse. It is almost two years now that I have been married and my husband is still in Jamaica. I have sent an email to the embassy there twice and they have read my email but no answer. Personally, I need my husband and would like to know what is the hold up. I am a citizen and I have already sent in all my paper work. I do not know what else you need to know on my status.

You need to give us more details like what is your status?

Sorry to hear about that wait. If you were usc when you filed, 2 years is a long time to not hear anything (and not know why). Have you only contacted the embassy? They may not respond if your case isn't there. Its possible the file probably has spent time or got held up in a USCIS center or the NVC (depending on what you filed of course). In the begining, did you get any file or reciept numbers? Do you know what you filed? Do you know where you sent it? I wish you luck
