Hello,
I've filed the I130 for spouse and kid - couriered the documents to Chicago - the package was signed and received on Nov.29, 2010. I was wondering how long does it take for them:
1. to process the check payment
2. to send a receipt (e-mail or text messgage)

Thx.

The Chicago Lockbox is a contractor facility that only accepts fees and data enters petitions and applications into the computer for USCIS. They are very efficient BUT the fees increased on Nov. 23rd so a ton of forms were filed in a mad rush to beat the fee increase so right now processing may be delayed. Don't let it worry you if it takes longer than you've read about in recent online posts.

Thanks BigJoe5 - your answer is re-assuring. When should I start worrying - 2-3 weeks after it was received at Chicago ?

Thanks....

BigJoe5 - my application fee (I130 petition for wife and 1 yr old kid back home) was cashed on Dec.13. I have not yet received a case number via email or text message or regular mail. Will they cash the check if the application was rejected ?

Check getting cashed is a good sign, did you file an e-notification form?

Yes...I did - the G-1145. Which is why I am a little concerned that I have not received the e-notification. Will they cash the check if the application was rejected ?
