I130 Approval ..... now what?

I have petitioned for my mom in Jamaica and gotten an approval notice dd 4/10/2006. My mom resides in jamaica.

I was curious to know how much longer it would take for her to get her final visa - I applied thru the California Service Center.

I read a couple of thread and can see the general process but my main question is ...??

My mom is also the holder of visitors visa and can visit the states at any time - can I have her come here and then file a I485 - adjustment of status - while continuing with the I130 but filing from here instead of being in Jamaica?

Will that throw off the application process or hinder her in anyway - I am trying to get her here before July and I am afraid that the I130 process will not be completed by then.

HELP!!!

If you havent already done so... you may want to read this excellent thread maintained by needurhelp http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=202993

The best thing for your Mom to do is to go through consular processing in Jamaica. It might take a while, may be a few months - and this depends on the Consulate, and not on Service Center. If she comes here on B-1 visa, which is a non-immigrant category, she might have problems when she files I-485.
