Hi,

I just wanted to share my experience going for fingerprinting at the Newark, NJ ASC on Friday 10/26/2007.

I had an appointment for 3 PM, but I showed up around 2 PM and they took me at that time.

For ID, they accepted my driver's license, and didn't ask for my passport.

Everything went very smoothly.

I was given a number and waited along with the rest of the people.

The people doing the fingerprinting were moving pretty fast with the numbers, and I got called within 10 minutes of sitting down.

The guy who took me was very courteous and nice to me. He seemed to know what he was doing.

Overall, the experience was very positive.

When I came home and checked my mail, my EAD card was waiting for me. :)

Can someone please reply if they were in a similar situation and have done this at the Newark ASC?

We got our finger printing notices except that our appointments are in Boston (where our attorney is located) instead of NJ where we are from.

Should we go to the Newark ASC a day ahead of the FP date and take our chance or should we go to the Newark ASC on the scheduled date (for Boston ASC)? Has anyone been refused FP at Newark ASC in such a case?

Please reply if someone has had to make this decision and if it worked for you.

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

Thanks to everone for posting their experiences, which helped us with our FP. We went to the Newark ASC on the day of our appointment (in Boston). We went a couple of hours in advance (we were scheduled for 11am in Boston)...no problem.

The guy at the entrance was cool. Let us in without checking what ASC we had our appointment. We had to fill a form (pretty basic info about self with A# and the 485 receipt #) while waiting in a queue (fast moving).

A lady and a guy sitting at this counter checked our appt notices and said our appt was for Boston. Told him we live in NJ...The appt notice went to our lawyers office. He got an OK (probably from their supervisor) while we waited for a couple of mins. We were given #'s and asked to wait. We had about 30 #'s ahead of us....had to wait for 30-40 mins...thats how efficient they are.

The actual FP took about 5-10 mins. They had 4 people doing that in a single area (x4 areas) = 16 people FP'ing people at the same time.

We were out in an hour and a half!!

Very happy we got that done. LUD's updated to todays date.

Their address is 26 Commerce Street, Newark, NJ. There is metered parking available on the street (which we were lucky enough to get yesterday) as well as a pay and park right next to the ASC.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting to get their FP's done.

Shubh Diwali.

1. No, you already have an appointment scheduled, so you don't need Infopass.

2. You can try, but there is no guarantee you will be let in. It's up to them.

3. As stated on your appointment notice: You need to bring the notice itself plus a government-issued ID. That's all.
