I want to get rid of my middle name on SSN

The thing is that I have applied to SSN a LONG time ago (when on J1), and stated my middle name. How simple would that be? I just don't want it anymore on my official documents for a lot of reasons.

Based on the OP's name, I assume that he's Russian (takes one to know one) and is probably referring to the patronymic, not a middle name. I would assume that he can explain at the SSI office that the middle name is actually a patronymic and replace the social security card.

If it's neither on his birth certificate nor green card, it will be easy to get it removed from the Social Security card.
