I want out

Hi. I was wondering something and hope that maybe you can help with some advice.

I got here from a scandinavian country on a visa waiver and I married a woman I had talked to on the internet for over a year. We married on a spur of the moment decision and it was the greatest time in the world. Because of finacial problems we haven\'t filed any immigration papers yet and I have currently overstayed a year, wich is according to our immigration lawyer at the time, okay (considering you can explain yourself and bla bla).
Now things have changed. Lately, her family has gotten on to me about things I haven\'t done, and she has generally changed. This has pshyced me out quite a bit and I want out of the US and back where I can from. I do feel as if it doesn\'t matter if I can come back to the US or not. I just wonder what would happen and how to go about with immigration. Since I don\'t have any social security nr. or anything I can\'t just show up at the airport and say I\'d like a one way ticket. And what would happen, I mean, would they throw me in jail for "overstaying"?
Any advice?

Thank you!

I don\'t know what\'s all involved but if all you want to do is leave the US and are not concerned about being able to ever return to the US then you just need to buy a ticket to the country you came from utilizing your own resources and just go to the air port on the day of departure and leave! They will find out that you have overstayed your visa and just ask you some general questions but there is no need for them to through you in a jail, unless there are other charges and criminal/civilian offenses filed against your name. You are leaving the country anyway so why would they put you in a jail for deportation! So if all you want to do is just leave, buy a air ticket and leave. You might not be able to come back but you sure can leave!

One problem is if you need to take domestic connection flights to say, JFK. You might not be able to board if they(domestic airlines workers) ask to see your passport and find out you have no status.
The airport security checks are less a problem if you look "American" (that is, non middle eastern nor south asian) your driver\'s licence is enough.
